Just met Mia this weekend at an event at the University of Miami, where she teaches. Lovely lady! Can’t wait to read this book.

I found my own voice as an author after reading this book.  Dreaming in Cuban gave me permission in some ways to write about the place I come from (Miami), and the people who loved me and whom I loved (my Cuban family) and the island I’ve never seen but feel in my heart.
